The Jingyang Camphor Court creates a tranquil courtyard in the heart of Jingdezhen (Jiangxi province), a city historically well-known for its porcelain production. The site is located in a bustling part of the city and is characterized by the presence of ongoing industrial heritage renewal projects around it. The site featured industrial relics such as a long and narrow industrial building, a few mechanical rooms, a dormitory, and a dilapidated pavilion. In and around these structures, camphor trees had grown to maturity. The retention of these trees became the basic premise of the project.

The Headquarters of Council of Engineers / AATTN8A

The Council of Engineers HQ stands as a visionary architecture that enhances well-being by seamlessly integrating life, art, and technology. The modern masterpiece covers complex engineering works within and stands on a gigantic green space, features a public park and library to revitalize the city and harmonious blend with all people in the community. The building offers a place for work and learning with an interactive experience, bringing together people to collaborate and explore. The design prioritizes enhancing quality of life, integrating engineering innovations and eco-friendly materials to minimize natural resource consumption and reduce carbon production.

ANBASSA Coffee Shop / OAR / Office Abrami Rojas

In the city center of Pantin near Paris, a 1935 building has been ingeniously converted into a specialty coffee shop and roastery by the Italian-Mexican architectural design firm Office Abrami Rojas. The architects, fond of existing buildings with a story to tell, saw an opportunity to build a unique interior design that would honor the original construction. «After exposing the walls and the supporting structure, we discovered and enhanced the magnificent reinforced concrete and glass domes, which were hidden until then by insulating panels.»

Cala Blanca Bali House / Biombo Architects

Cala Blanca, is a 4 bedroom residential house located in a unique villa hotel known as “Biombo Secrets”. Located just 800m from the shore in Pererenan, Bali. This compound is a curated collection of villas that are available for everyone who wants to spend a holiday in Bali, plus the experience of staying in an architectural thought design. Other renowned villas, like Cala Bona Bali, Cala Blanca Bali, and Cala Terra Bali, are part of this compound.

Lanoma Residence / Licht Architecture

Located in East Launceston, Tasmania, sits a Federation house built in 1914; it is home to a family of three. The home had lovely character and charm, but the interiors were internalized and lacked a connection to the backyard. The design approach removes a tired lean-to, making way for a new kitchen/dining extension that focuses out onto a new courtyard and backyard beyond. The internal floor plan has been rationalized to simplify movement through the home and to incorporate an ensuite and laundry within the existing footprint.

Baruthane Cultural Center / Per Se Architecture

Baruthane was put into operation in 1700 as the fifth, largest, and most modern gunpowder factory in Ottoman Istanbul. The facility was renovated during the Selim the 3rd period and expanded with additions such as the Hünkar Mansion. Baruthane, which was transferred to the Military Factories Administration during the Republic period, was later given to the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation in 1955.

Diagonally from COEX, across from the old KEPCO site where Hyundai Motor Company’s new headquarters is being built, there is a quiet residential area that seems like a different world. The client wanted to build an office building for the company he operates on a small piece of land measuring about 120 m2 located at the corner of this residential intersection.
