The Ateliê Colormix is a place of decoration objects. Materials such as natural stones, concrete, porcelain tiles and ceramics are the inspiration for objects with a special design. The architecture and interiors project are focused on different materials and textures, to create a dialogue with the store’s concept. The expositor products areas are in the main room. In the secondary room, located in the posterior area, we can find the administration area as well as the coffee zone. Both constructions are facing to an internal courtyard used for meetings, events, and courses.

Grand Granary Bookstore of Librairie Avant-Garde / SEU-ARCH Art+Zen Architects

There is a group of abandoned granaries in Tangkou Town, Kaiping City, Jiangmen, the famous hometown of overseas Chinese and the location of the World Cultural Heritage Diaolou Group in Guangdong Province. Due to its historical value and unique form, Librairie Avant-grade is located here. The bookstore hopes to revitalize and reuse the abandoned silos, creating a special quality of bookstore space for the first rural bookstore of Librairie Avant-grade in South China region. There are a total of seven buildings to be renovated for the bookstore. In addition of five granaries is to repair them, mainly the roof of the granaries. By using the original technology to repair and rebuild the top of the silo, the problem of leakage on the roof has been solved, and its original appearance has been basically maintained.

Project Overview: Mohammad, the proprietor of an esteemed export-centric carpet brand, has procured an antiquated domicile situated in the historic, renowned Bagh-e-Goushkhan district of Isfahan, which accommodates numerous carpet weavers. His intention was to bulldoze the whole existing structure and erect a contemporary building dedicated to floating activities: carpet weaving, exhibition, design atelier, and temporary lodgings for distinguished guests. Contemplating the project’s parameters, a critical query arose: due to the existence of treasured but dilapidated structures -either abandoned or completely demolished, replaced by multi-stories- can we acquire an adjustment to complete the puzzle by only adding a single novel structure? Could a solution be capable of meeting the client’s requisites along with minimizing structural disruption, waste production, and preventing reutilization of new materials?
