The construction is located in a residential subdivision carved out of a piece of the Landes forest bordering the northwest of the town center of Soorts. The existing timber frame house built in 2016 following the development of the subdivision is located at the highest point of the land parallel to the road along the plot. PRISM Inn Ogu / A hotel for long-term stays – The project is located on a site close to the city center and is easily accessible from the airport. Traditionally, hotel rooms that can accommodate a group of four or five people together are relatively scarce in Tokyo and, if available, are often restrictively expensive. Here, the aim was to facilitate the accommodation of larger families and groups, particularly overseas visitors from Asia. The resulting design needed to be finely balanced so that each guest could feel equally comfortable when staying together as part of a large group of people or when staying in a smaller group.

Kemaris House is nestled in the residential suburb of Kuala Lumpur’s Bangsar neighborhood. Commissioned to embody the essence of minimalism while ensuring functionality for a modern family, this Northeast-facing abode ingeniously integrates elements to address the split-level site and combat the relentless tropical sun. Drawing inspiration from the region’s climatic challenges, the design harmoniously incorporates brise-soleil louvers and indigenous landscaping to temper the harsh sunlight. Honest materials, celebrated for their intrinsic colors and textures, lend the structure an authentic allure, seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings.
