Pergas Cafe is located in the busy Armenian neighborhood of Jolfa, Isfahan, and the location of the property has its potential. The presence of a parking lot on the eastern side and the neighborhood with Jolfa Hotel and Church Vank is an opportunity to revive a small 36-meter shop located in one of the most important urban plazas of Isfahan.

303 Shirahama Italian / Roito Inc.

“303” is an Italian restaurant in Shirahama town, with a picturesque view of Engetsu Island, a symbolic attraction in Wakayama prefecture, Japan. Originally, it was refurbished from a guest house once operated by the client’s family. Shirahama boasts the most stunning beach in the Kansai region, where visitors can immerse themselves in a landscape seamlessly blending with the sea. The town lies gracefully along the coastline, reflecting a deep connection between its residents and the ocean. This local affinity with the sea inspired my design approach.

Located in Frankston South on Bunurong Country and backing onto the regionally significant Narringalling (Sweetwater Creek), Sweetwater House provides flexibility and respite for a maturing family. Designed and built during Melbourne’s extended COVID lockdowns, the home reflects an inventive response to low-cost, multi-generational, and sustainable living while also telling a story of personal and ecological renewal. Our ambition was to create a materially honest and highly sustainable home for our family of four. We developed a plan arrangement that could adapt to the changing needs of two teenage children and allow for multi-generational living and visits from family interstate. Parent and children’s bedrooms are located at separate ends of the house, each with generous garden views, while a series of four, two and one metre spatial arrangements create ‘zones’ that encourage different modes of occupation.

Stewart House / SSdH

Heritage Value –Although the house that became ‘Stewart’ is atypical to the prescribed requirements that dictate heritage value and sits outside a designated heritage overlay, the design response embraces the principles of the Burra Charter. ‘Stewart’ celebrates the 1970s brown, brick-veneer, Brunswick house – a quintessential element of Melbourne’s built character that defines a period within Australia’s recent history but is yet to be recognised as having heritage value. The employed strategy focuses on both new elements and light touch design interventions to provide significant impact. Internally, an intentional blending of new and existing conditions leaves viewers questioning where interventions begin and end.

What is an office? After the COVID-19 craze, online meetings and remote working have become the norm. Thanks to the improved communications environment, we can work from anywhere. The boundary between home and office is blurring, and the meaning and function of an office are becoming increasingly difficult to define.

Dapu Elementary and Junior High School Affiliated Kindergarten. Nestled in the mountainous region of Chiayi County, Dapu Township bears a significant history. In 1973, the construction of the Tseng Wen Reservoir led to the flooding of its valley plains and towns. Consequently, much of its land was either nationalized or designated as protected forest reserves, transforming Dapu into an enchanting sanctuary.

Plans for the renovation of a space that used to be a parking lot into offices. Kyoto has a long history of creating “mise-tana” and “machi-tana” to connect with the city, and it seems that the ground floor has always been regarded as a special place. In designing the building, we considered the continuity from the ground to connect the inside and outside of the building with the sidewalk so that the “openness and locality of the ground floor” would be connected.
