42, rue Cambronne, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, the transformation of the building constructed in the early 1970s by architect Marcel Roux to house ADOMA’s head office is complete. Reflecting the architectural practice of the time, the composition is clear and legible: a systematic facade of prefabricated concrete panels covers the different volumes.

With approximately 10,000 m² and a triple ceiling height of 15 m, the new headquarters of Nubank was designed in one of the ships of one of the old warehouses of the Votorantim group, in Vila Leopoldina, now retrofitted by the MM18 Architecture office, led by architects Marcos Caldeira and Mila Strauss. The Nubank-Spark project, as it was named, was designed based on the horizontality of the complex and its industrial structure, as well as aiming to reconcile Nubank’s commitment to integrating with local architecture and integrating the team into its culture.

Plans for the renovation of a space that used to be a parking lot into offices. Kyoto has a long history of creating “mise-tana” and “machi-tana” to connect with the city, and it seems that the ground floor has always been regarded as a special place. In designing the building, we considered the continuity from the ground to connect the inside and outside of the building with the sidewalk so that the “openness and locality of the ground floor” would be connected.

Transformation of commercial premises with a reduced surface area. The program required the optimization of a small 50 m2 space for a variety of simultaneous uses. The intervention is based on maximum purification plus the incorporation of bespoke furniture elements that relate to each other. The geometric adaptation of the pieces produces a series of synergies that, around a pillar, allow for different spatial configurations and cease to be an obstacle.

The client came to us with an ambitious brief – to design a mass timber office building that aligned with its T3 corporate strategy, which focuses on transit, timber, and technology and was developed in response to growing demand for local authenticity, sustainability, and urban and social connectivity. The challenge lay in marrying this brief with Collingwood’s rich industrial context, characterized by elegant warehouses, narrow streets, vibrant arts precincts, and an evolving, progressive demographic.

A Place That Keeps On Supporting Creativity – The project is a relocation of the headquarters of a game production company based in Tokyo. It aims to become a place for the highest level of creation that captivates fans worldwide and supports the foundation of the game production process. As almost all employees engage exclusively in creative operation, we focused mainly on providing a balance between concentration and relaxation while significantly removing the burden of operational work. We strived to achieve them by introducing slanted walls that characterize the exterior and a system with tablets to control all facilities, including security.
