The Georgetown University’s Campus in Qatar of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service is integrated within the Northern side of the Education City Campus. The adjacent building to the West is the Central Library and to the Southwest the Student Center, also designed by LEGORRETA. To the South lies the Heritage Ruin and a Park with a strong visual and conceptual connection achieved by landscape design and orientation of the building.

Elegant and resolute, the Student Development Center (SDC) at Florida Polytechnic University (FPU) in Lakeland, Florida, USA, portrays the creative spirit and interactive vibe of a blooming academic and research community located in an emerging technology corridor. With a form inspired by the student-selected mascot and a material palette aligned with Santiago Calatrava’s signature Innovation, Science and Technology (IST) Building and original campus master plan, the facility emboldens students, faculty, staff and extended community members to advance their wellness and academic pursuits.

The Center weaves health and wellness together into everyday student life, with Student Health, Nutrition, Counseling and Psychological Services, Wellness and Case Management programs coming together under one roof. This innovative new facility both answers the needs of clinical care and expands the role of wellness in ensuring healthy students. Strategically situated between athletics, student services and residential complexes, the building abuts Duke historic forest’s and a primary campus circulation path.

Aalto University Väre Building / Verstas Architects

The Väre Building at the Aalto University campus, designed by the award-winning Finnish bureau Verstas Architects, is a new type of education venue that combines design and business under the same roof. It is dedicated to the concept of doing things together. The building is a place for casual encounters and collaboration between students and teaching staff, for intense creation, teaching and research in creative and business fields. This cooperation is expected to foster new types of start-ups, companies and future talent.
